Why I Think Scotland Resonates With Collectors

In media, literature and art Scotland exudes a feeling of nostalgia, for times long past, wanderlust, the urge to travel and see all the sights for yourself, and solitude from the vast landscapes can give a sense that you’re just a small part in this world. It make you wonder at the landscape around you and how vast and beautiful it is. I think all of these characteristics are intriguing to people and make attractive and appealing art.

They allow you to picture yourself there and imagine what it would be like to experience it for yourself. I think having a piece of art that allows you to experience the wonder and joy of another place and time is so valuable. As a painter who completed a series inspired by such travel I can say the process of creating those pieces is extremely rewarding in itself.

It is my hope that through my paintings people can get a taste of that feeling, so that every time they look upon one of them they’re drawn in and can imagine themselves there as well.
