One part of a day trip we took through the Highlands near Inverness was a ride on the Jacobite Steam Train. About halfway through the trip we stopped at a station in Glenfinnan for a short break. The station had an ice cream booth where many of the other passengers partook in a sweet treat, but we were more interested in stretching our legs, so we took a short walk down the road that lead to the station.
Like so many other places in Scotland we were captivated by the green of the surrounding hills, the white flowers blossoming from the bushes lining the path, and the calmness of the scene in general. A mother was taking her daughter on a short walk ahead of us, and I thought the scene was lovely and perfect for a painting. This piece was the result, and I enjoy looking at it and remembering the tranquility of that moment.
